It’s time for blogs to be recognized as “media”
No one can ignore the role that blogs is currently playing in changing the media scene all over the world, and yet it’s somehow neglected by many companies and agencies.
Blogs is constantly enriching the online content with user-generated reviews and news, the population has engaged with the media game and it is able more than ever to represent itself and to lead the way.
And the Middle East is not isolated of the web revolution and we started to see mature blogging scene in most of Arab countries, despite the censorship and the rules & regulation enforced on blogging in this region of the world, Arabs are becoming more attached to this tool that offers freedom of speech.
PR agencies do focus on traditional media, print mainly, and yet they are not including blogs in their plans and events even that blogs are as creditable as any other media, if not even more creditable.
Bloggers are talking their honest opinion, but they are missing accuracy as they don’t do much research and follow-up, but at the end of day nothing is perfect.
I’ve launched a new initiative, casual PR, a public relations agency that aims at opening communication channels between bloggers and PR agencies and major clients. Join the community!
